FindAPlate Privacy Policy

FindAPlate is an offline-first license-plate spotting game published by Capo Software. It does not use advertising, analytics, tracking technologies, or a developer-operated account or cloud service.

Information FindAPlate uses

FindAPlate stores game settings, a player-provided display name, a random local peer identifier, game sessions, claims, and voice diagnostic events on the device. Voice diagnostic events describe microphone routes and processing state; they do not contain recordings or recognized words. A user may explicitly share the diagnostic log using the iOS share sheet.

For nearby multiplayer, FindAPlate sends the display name, random peer identifier, session details, and game actions directly between participating devices over the local network. Capo Software cannot access this information.

When a user starts a voice claim, FindAPlate uses Apple’s speech-recognition services. FindAPlate does not save audio or recognized speech. Apple’s handling of speech-recognition data is governed by Apple’s privacy policy and device settings.

Collection, tracking, and sharing

Capo Software does not collect personal data through FindAPlate, track users across apps or websites, sell personal data, or share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Retention and control

Game history and preferences remain on the device until removed by the user or by deleting the app. Users can reset the voice diagnostic log and control microphone, speech-recognition, and local-network access in iOS Settings.

Children’s privacy

FindAPlate does not require an account, and Capo Software does not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app. Parents and guardians should help children choose a non-identifying display name.
